Orton-Gillingham Training Opportunities

People often ask us what Orton-Gillingham training courses we recommend. The courses we recommend depend on your background.

For clinicians whose background includes phonetics and other language science courses, Lexercise offers a series of online courses that take that prior knowledge into account (see below for more information). However, if you do not have a background in language science and specifically in phonetics, you might want to consider one of the Orton-Gillingham courses for educators listed below as these courses typically include an introduction to phonetics.

These costs listed below are registration fees only. For courses that are on-site seminars you will need to calculate in the travel, meals and lodging costs.

    Dyslexia Training Institute (overview-online)

    A sequence of two asynchronous online courses designed as an overview of dyslexia and the Orton-Gillingham Approach, most appropriate for parents or administers who would like a general understanding of the approach but don't need to administer.

 

 

 

   The Hill Center (onsite in Durham, NC)
