1. Make sure you are using a modern computer with a webcam.

It is important that you use a modern computer (one purchased in the last three or four years should be fine) and that you have a webcam because the clinician needs to see you. If you don't have a webcam, you can buy an inexpensive one. (Note: iPads won't work because they don't support Flash technology and netbooks are usually too slow.)

2. Connect your computer to the internet with a network cable.

The weekly webcam sessions with your Lexercise Clinician require that your computer be wired to the internet (not using WiFi) because of the faster connection speed. If you don’t quite understand what this means, please watch the following video.

3. Create a Skype account.

Skype is a wonderful tool for making free phone calls with your computer. The quality of the audio signal in Skype is hard to beat, so we use it for the audio portion of our evaluation. If you're already a Skype user, skip to Step 4. If not, please set up a Skype account. Below are a few videos to help you get started:

Download and Install Skype

Check your Audio and Mic Settings in Skype

4. Connect through Skype with your Lexercise Clinician.

Your Lexercise Clinician will email you his/her Skype address so that you can add it to your contacts in Skype. Once you do this, it will send your Lexercise Clinician an invitation to connect with you. Here is a brief video tutorial for how to do this:

5. Learn about the evaluation process.

Once you have connected with your Lexercise Clinician on Skype he/she will work with you to find a time to talk for a few minutes about the evaluation process. He/she will answer any questions you have and take a few moments to test out the meeting platform we use for the visual/video portion of the evaluation. This way, you will be all set up and ready to go for your online evaluation.
