For Prospective Lexercise Teletherapists

Our Teletherapy Partner network is growing!

Lexercise teletherapy partners are professionals  (e.g., educational therapists, dyslexia therapists, speech-language pathologists, etc.) who have demonstrated their knowledge and skill as experts in structured literacy (a.k.a. Orton-Gillingham) therapy. They use the Lexercise teletherapy platform so they can work with clients wherever they live.  Review our current Teletherapy Partners HERE.

We are seeking more qualified providers.

Lexercise Teletherapy Partner candidates must demonstrate the requirements listed below under "REQUIREMENTS".  After qualifying, there are 5 steps to becoming a Lexercise Teletherapy Partner, listed below under "STEPS".

If you are interested and think you can qualify we'd love to hear from you!

I.  REQUIREMENTS for Prospective Lexercise Teletherapy Partners

1. The therapist has a professional degree from an accredited university in education, psychology, speech-language pathology, medicine or a related profession. (A Master’s Degree or higher is preferred.)

2. The therapist has had demonstrated knowledge of the structure of written English and of the structured literacy intervention methodology, consistent with the International Dyslexia Association's Knowledge and Practice Standards by passing the Lexercise Clinician Qualification Test  either by:

         or

  • taking Lexercise’s online professional development Course 1 and Course 2 and passing the final exams.

 3. The therapist has had at least 100 hours of supervised, clinical practice providing literacy intervention in a one-to-one, therapeutic setting (as opposed to in a group or classroom application). This type of practicum is a part of professional preparation for most helping professionals (special educators, SLPs, psychologists, medical professionals).

Supervised practicum in structured literacy can be arranged as an online course through Lexercise. It is also available through private training institutes like ALTA.

4.  The therapist does now (or will) operate, or be employed by, a business entity (e.g., a sole proprietorship, limited liability company, partnership, corporation or a non-profit agency).

Current Lexercise teletherapy groups are often looking for qualified associates so, if you prefer, you can contract with a business as opposed to running your own.

If you are not sure which path will be best for you, you don't have to decide right now.  You can make this decision after you have demonstrated your qualifications as described in #1, #2  and #3 above.

5. The therapist agrees to be trained in, and comply with, the Lexercise teletherapy procedures, consistent with the American Telemedicine Association's Telemental Health teletherapy guidelines and best-practice standards.

Further, the therapist agrees to acquire and maintain the necessary hardware and software, including:

  • dependable, high-speed internet, adequate for video-conferencing
  • modern computer(s) with a webcam and microphone
  • a headset with a microphone
  • a quiet space with professional video backdrop (e.g. no bed or kitchen in the background)
  • a Google calendar (shared with Lexercise for scheduling teletherapy clients)
  • a secure, private system for organizing digital office records (e.g. a secure computer)

NOTE: Lexercise provides all new Teletherapy Partners with competency-based, best-practice teletherapy technology training. Therapists must complete this course before providing services.
